Diabetes and Lipid Clinic of Alaska

Carrie Speer

I was born and raised in Arizona.   At 19 I moved to Seward, Alaska and spent 8 years working in the hospitality industry during the summer.  In the winter I worked as barista and for the Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corp., where I received my EMT 1 certification.

In 2005 I moved to Anchorage and continued making coffee and eventually managing a local drive thru.  I missed working for the Ambulance Corp. and decided to pursue a medical career.  I worked at a local pediatric clinic and eventually moved on to coding and billing for a pathology group.  After getting to know the whole office through my barista job, Wendy and Jason approached me with an amazing opportunity, and I couldn't say no.  I'm excited to be working at the front desk and getting to know the patients.

In my spare time, I like to spend quality time with my son Brody and my husband Chris.  I enjoy geocaching, camping and making coffee on the weekends.
